The Script
The Script is a book test in which you can not only reveal a thought of word from within the pages, but you can also reveal a large amount of other information from the page the participant is looking at.
The Script is a set of 2 specially made books of short stories. These books can be used together with two audience members, revealing different things to each, or to offer a choice to one spectator as to which book they'd like to use.
The books have high quality gloss laminated covers, are 6x9 size and each one is around 100 pages long. They look like normal, every day books which would be sat on your shelf.
There is no fishing for letters or page contents, You need not ever touch the books. they open one of the books to whichever number page they like and read the first couple of paragraphs in their mind. As they are reading, you begin to get a feeling of what they are experiencing in the words.
You can tell the spectator:
- The sex of the character they are reading about.
- Whether the character is having a good or bad experience.
- Whether or not the character is talking about the present or a past experience.
- You can tell how much or how little text is on the page they are seeing.
- By supposedly analysing the text you're seeing in your head, you can tell whether the author of the story is male or female.
- You can then finish by having the spectator focus on a word and reveal it in full.
This isn't just a standard book test in which you can reveal a thought of word, this is remeniscent of booktests like Outlaw Effects' "Homocide" and Luke Jermay's Book test in which you can create a whole experience for your audience and a phenomenal demonstration of telepathy, rather than just reveal a word.
There are no misses or near misses, every piece of information you give will be relevant to the page that they are looking at.
Alongside the standard methodology taught, two other bonus routines are included:
InSync - Two spectators turn to random pages or different books and each focus on a word. They have somehow both settled on the same word, which of course, you can reveal immediately.
Hoy Extended - A variation on a classic which allows you to reveal a every piece of information about the page they're looking at without any memory whatsoever.
